Information Milano Marittima

Milano Marittima was founded as a small fishing village at the beginning of 1900. Fishing, agriculture and salt production were the only economic resources of the city.

After the construction of the railway sections Cervia – Ravenna and Cervia -  Rimini and the extensive reclamation works which were carried out across the surrounding area, Cervia and Milano Marittima became two important tourist centres. During the first years of 1900, a new town layout was developed in order to enhance the surrounding natural beauties and pinewood forest.

These are the origins of Milano Marittima, which once attracted especially rich people from Lombardy. Over the course of the years, new bathing establishments and accommodation facilities have been built, and this contributed to make Milano Marittima one of the most appreciated holiday destinations in Emilia-Romagna.

Milano Marittima is one of the most famous tourist centres in Romagna and gathers a remarkably wide array of elegant hotels and accommodation facilities. Its trendy clubs and discos attract large numbers of young people and tourists from all over the world.
